For this assignment, I chose to create a fanpage for "Jo", a character from the novel "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott. I was not entirely sure how to portray Jo in this webpage, so I chose to word it as if she had worded it herself by writing in her style of dialogue and voice. I wasn't exactly sure how to begin this assignment, so I started by going to Web3 schools and used sample HTML and CSS pages in formatting my own. I already knew from class how to make a basic HTML site, but I was still foggy on CSS. After copying Web3's format, I played around with the settings to find out what did what, for example, the "padding" having to do with borders and how to adjust image and font sizes. I changed things around to have them the way I liked them, then added text and images. I also chose to have multiple HTML pages because my initial one seemed a little plain, and I also attempted to try to change the background image for a single page. This was rather difficult for me, but I eventually succeeded. I looked it up online, and somehow figured it out. I was a little proud of the fact that I was able to figure out the "span" function and successfully changed the color of a single word using CSS. I also figured out where to put color codes in so that I would not mix up a background color and a font color. I had some help though from notes in class and also from studying the bit of CSS that I stole from the Professor's CSS file that makes words blink, which helped me to better understand the meaning of "span" and "class". Overall, I did not think that I would be able to comprehend enough to complete this assigment, but then through muddling through it I found out that it's not as difficult as it seems.
